Malissia Chitwood
Preschool Director and Director of Operations
Mrs. Chitwood dedicated 26 years of her life to serving in the US Navy. Throughout her career, she became one of the first qualified female aircrew members and one of the pioneering women to graduate from Survival Evasion Resistance Escape (SERE) school. She achieved qualifications as an Amphibious Air Traffic Control Supervisor, Carrier Air Traffic Control Supervisor, and was twice certified as a Tower Control Supervisor. Additionally, she coordinated the Tiger cruise, which hosted over 2,100 civilians aboard the USS Ronald Reagan during its journey across the Pacific. Her exemplary service earned her several accolades, including Naval Air Station Point Mugu Sailor of the Year in 2004, Ventura County Military Person of the Year in 2005, and the Meritorious Service Medal in 2016.
In terms of education, Mrs. Chitwood holds a bachelor's degree in science and a master's degree in Business/Organizational Management. She also has certifications in early childhood development and as a preschool director from the MS Department of Health.
Mrs. Chitwood is married to Chris Chitwood, and together they have a daughter named Kennedy.
